In September 2012, SOMA celebrated 20 years in business. This mile stone event coincided with the opening of its Soma Globe Technology and Training Centre in Lanskroun where over 4000 visitors gathered to celebrate the occasion. The centre is a dedicated research and development facility for printing and flexible packaging technology and will eventually bring together customers and supplier partners from around the world. In its short history SOMA has become one of the top five companies in the field of manufacturing printing and converting equipment. With sales and representation around the world, the company has become a key supplier to the industry with installations in many countries including the UK, Continental Europe, South Africa and Japan.
Owner, Ing. Ladislav Verner comments on his company’s unique success story: “Customer success is crucial to the success of any company supplying equipment to the printing and packaging industry. ‘Profit Making Technology’ is a credo which truly describes the nature of our business. For us this means our customer must receive equipment with the technology that allows them to offer higher added value products than their competitors. This is the difference we bring to market.”
The price of a production line from SOMA is on the order of tens of millions of Czech crowns which is remarkable for a small provincial company producing high technology equipment. Its manufacturing and production operation integrates creative professions in the fields of technology, design, business and marketing in house which lowers costs and dependence on outside services. German manufacturers generally give jobs to Czech companies with the latter supplying parts to Germany. Soma is different in that it provides work for German companies. "I think this is different from other companies in the vast majority of Czech industries. Our desire is not only to produce, but to also develop new ideas. Personnel with an innovative approach in my company have a bright future, which means a promising future for the whole company", adds Verner.
The Soma Globe Technology and Training Centre, fully equipped with printing and converting machines will be officially open to customers and partners in May 2013.
